One - a sneak preview of studio work in progress

Save only One is a work centered around fragments of memories and UNSEEING. I combine childhood artifacts with residue and found objects.

A detectable voice develops out of the deliberate combination of unrelated fragments. Unseeing speaks to more than avoidance; it actively blocks access internally to what was seen and deletes it.

Memories remain UNSEEN, discarded, quieted, and slowly eroding the inner landscape. Nothing good grows in the darkness of my memory. I use the two-dimensional voyeurism of the camera to emulate the tenderness by using soft textured fleeting dryer lint set on the black background simulating a unifying space in which memory is held.

I am showing the LIMPS image as part of the APEX Exhibition at the SPAO Gallery in March 2023 and the STONES image at Praxis Gallery in Minneapolis in April 2023.
